What is HIBR
Hibr is an alternative youth/citizen media outlet in Lebanon that uses both “traditional” and “new” media tools to engage young people, community organizations, schools, universities, and more in educating and discussing critical social, economic, environmental, and political issues. Hibr works online (www.hibr.me), in print (a free distribution monthly newspaper; currently distributing 20,000 copies), and in person (organizing a wide variety of activities, competitions and events), in Arabic and English, with content in print/text, multimedia, graphics, photos, audio and video. The outlet is independent of any confessional or political group, inclusive, tech-savvy (appropriate tech/ICT for dev't), fun, provocative (in a positive way), open, participatory, creative and engaging.
