University is a phase of transition from school to the workplace which comes with its own whole new lifestyle. Here are some tips to help you get through your first year:
Don't depend on what is given in class. Do your own research; fly with your own wings!
Don't be a slacker. Study for tests, attend classes, do your own work (don't plagiarize), and respect deadlines and due dates.
Don't just research course material; research professors. A background check on your teachers can help you pick those who suit you most.
Be yourself. No need to exaggerate your personality to impress others or stand out.
Try joining clubs and participating in activities. Not only do you meet new people, but it also looks good on your CV.
After your first year, plan ahead for coming semesters by researching future courses.
